Why mobile App Promotion?
So you’ve developed your dream app and uploaded it to the market, eagerly waiting for a flood of downloads to propel your product to stardom. But despite announcing it on your Facebook page and getting some positive reviews, you can’t seem to get past 50 downloads a day.
It’s a harsh reality, but the most effective way to generate massive downloads is to be featured, and that means having your app selected out of the hundreds of thousands of other apps already out there (not to mention the nearly 2,000 new apps being released each day). The chances are slim but can equal 50,000-100,000 download a day for an entire week of being featured.
App store optimization:
There are a number of things that can be done to combat this and to successfully market an app so that it gains the popularity and notoriety that it is worthy of. It requires good marketing skills but it also requires the understanding that marketing apps online is an entirely different environment that requires a different skill set than marketing in the more traditional fashion. Things that are important to keep in mind about app store optimization are to find keywords that work well in order to drive attention to subject matter that is created about the app in the first place. This involves a good amount of research to get right. It also involves creating the right category for the app and writing a description that engages the audience and makes them want to find out more. Screenshots and icons are equally as important, as are regular updates and rapid response to questions are concerns from people who are already using the app.
All too often app publishers rush into development with a solid idea in hand and a team to build it but skip some crucial planning steps which are necessary to make sure you hit the mark when you get your product out to market.
